By Pass Rotameter is arrangement of Conventional Glass Tube Rotameter and Orifice Assembly Mounted in between the High Flowrate Line, it uses Pressure Head Difference to Indicate Flowrate. This devices is majorly preferred option after Flowrate measurements over 50000 LPH flow. It can be customised as per customer flow requirements.
Glass Tube Rotameter is a Variable Area Flow Meter. It consists of a tapered tube, typically made from acrylic block, with a 'float' made of SS or PTFE. The differential pressure across the annulus area is constant. The float moves through the tapered tube up and down with respect to fluid flow. The vertical position of the float as indicated by scale is the measure of the instantaneous flow rate.
Glass Tube Rotameters are widely suitable for Process and Control Applications. These Rotameters are used with many majority of chemical processes.

VARIABLE AREA FLOWMETER
A variable area flow meter is a type of differential pressure (d/p) flowmeter. Variable area flow meters are simple and versatile devices that operate at a relatively constant pressure drop and provide flow measurement of liquids, gases, and steam. The variable area flow meter is popular for industrial flow indication because it has a linear scale, a relatively long measurement range, and low pressure drop and they are quite simple to install and maintain.
The variable area flow meter's operation is based on the variable area principle: fluid flow raises a float in a tapered tube, increasing the area for passage of the fluid. The greater the flow, the higher the float is raised. The height of the float is directly proportional to the flow rate. With liquids, the float is raised by a combination of the buoyancy of the liquid and the velocity head of the fluid. With gas flow, buoyancy is negligible, and the float responds to the velocity head alone.

The vertical position of the float as indicated by scale is the measure of the instantaneous flow rate. Induced magnetic moving flux moves the rotary mechanism of the metal tube rotameter which shows results on the calibrated scale as per the flow requirements.
